Every now and then you see a video with a child and their parent (or another adult) singing and it’s sweet and cute and most of the time you see that they’re talented. But this duo will blow your socks off. They sing Ain’t No Mountain High Enough like they own it! There’s nothing cute about this. This 12 year old is going somewhere. And singing with her “uncle” Jo (JoJo Clarke) is clearly bringing up her game.
Let’s talk about Uncle Jo! Holy wow. Can that man sing! I might just fall down the Instagram hole listening to every video he posts! I’ve got a free hour or two so I might as well!
The song Ain’t No Mountain High Enough was written by Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson in 1966. It was first performed and recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967. It became a hit, obviously.

I thought I would have chosen the Supremes version but that’s not actually my favorite. After listening to the Gaye/Terrell version I realized that was my favorite. Then I listened to this version by JoJo Clarke and I may just have a new favorite!

Was I right?? That did not disappoint, did it?
Now listen to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell sing it.
Now listen to the version by the Supremes. Diana Ross is hard to beat! But I’m not sure this is my favorite version. It’s beautiful, of course.
So do you have a favorite??
