We love the creativity and camaraderie that stems from this time of self-distancing . Families are creating hilarious music videos about when we’ll be able to wear pants again, Wes Tank is rapping Dr. Suess books like Fox in Sox and Green Eggs and Ham, and neighbors are installing clever backyard bars!
We just came across this adorable man from Kentucky who, along with his wife wrote these catchy lyrics to the tune of a classic Johnny Cash song. “I Walk the Line” was written and recorded in 1956 by Johnny Cash and was his first number one hit on the billboards. Now Blue and Colleen Murphy have swapped out the words of “I walk the Line” and replaced them with “I Quarantine” – and Quarantine is pronounced just a tad different to keep in line 😉 with the feel of the original song.
Blue Murphy’s deep baritone voice and Southern drawl are just the prerequisites needed to pull off a Johnny Cash imitation and we think he nailed it! “My hands are chapped – from – washing all the time….COVID 1-9, I Quarantine.”
I love Johnny Cash’s original song and I’ll certainly be humming Blue Murphy’s fun spin on it all day long! Thank you for you fun song, Blue and Colleen!
This is great! Good spin on Cash’s song! You have a great voice too!
I love it too, Anna!
