County Hilariously Explains How To Safely Handle Balls

May 24, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

Many people are chomping at the bit to get out of the house and do some physical activity! We’ve been stuck in quarantine Groundhog Day for weeks and weeks now. Many places are slowly beginning to open and in order to make sure the public is being safe while participating in sports and activities, counties are setting out guidelines to limit germ exposure.

This Nassau County Executive Laura Curran stumbled into a hilarious explanation of how to handle balls when you hit the tennis courts. Halfway through her speech she realized how inappropriate her suggestions were sounding and she could barely hold it together.

Let’s not forget the part where she cups her hand to show us how to handle the balls. I don’t think she’ll be forgetting that part anytime soon either.

Viewers were left laughing in their homes at the awkward speech. It’s been a while since we were all in grade school but it sure felt like the teacher said something funny about balls and we all laughed. Do you remember doing that?

As she said, if you’re from the same household, you can feel free to touch each other’s balls. But if you aren’t, you should use a sharpie to mark an X on your balls so nobody else touches them.

That’s right. Go grab your sharpies!

But wait! It get’s better.

You can kick their balls but you can’t touch them. That’s right. Don’t worry about kicking their balls.

Thankfully she noticed how her references to balls was beginning to sound so she tried her best to insert “tennis” before the word “ball” every time. But she still had a hard time not cracking herself up! Watch this short clip yourself and see if you can watch without giggling.

Tennis Courts open today in Nassau County BUT remember the news rules 🤣“You can kick their balls, but you can’t touch them” #2020 #bestquoteever #tennis #somelevity

Man Goes To Extraordinary Lengths To Protect His Mum

May 22, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

When you love and care for your elderly parents you just want the best for them. And sometimes the best thing for them is a hug! How many times in your life has a hug brightened your day? I’m betting it’s a lot!

This lovely man went to extraordinary lengths to protect his mother from any germs he might be carrying. We don’t know much about them but we can tell she’s elderly and definitely within the age group of people who should be isolating right now to stay healthy.

Photo by Josue Escoto on Unsplash

That’s so hard for many people. Being isolated can be hard emotionally. When your mind isn’t healthy, your body isn’t healthy. Hugs can relieve stress, protect against illness, boost your health, make you happier and even reduce your fears. Close personal contact is so important! Especially right now. So this man created a way he can safely hug his mother.

By hugging her this way he is definitely improving her mood and probably her overall health. What a wonderful thing to do! Have you been able to give or receive many hugs lately? We hope you have and that more are on the way soon!

It’s the sweetest thing! It just might make you cry! Just watch!

View this post on Instagram

I’m not crying you’re crying.🥺🥰 The way we are coming together & showing up for those who are most vulnerable during the pandemic is beautiful. 🤗😍❤️🥰 #SweetestVideoEver #QuarantineCuddleCurtain I need one so I can hug some people I love & need to protect. 🥰

A post shared by Karamo (@karamo) on May 17, 2020 at 8:20am PDT

Wasn’t that the sweetest? Definitely not an easy fix, and not something everyone can do. But it sure made her day. You can feel the emotion rolling off of both of them. In fact, it might even be more important for that son to get his hug from his mother at this time.

How have you been able to connect with your friends and family during this time? Any fun ideas you’ve seen? Let us know! Leave a comment or share a video with us. We love to see people happy!

Snoop Sneaks Out To His Car To Listen To The Last Song You Thought He’d Listen To

May 22, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

Parents everywhere are wondering when school will start again. The stress of kids and partners all being in a confined space for such a long period of time has led some of us to go a little batty. Even celebrities aren’t immune with their giant houses and endless activities.

Just the other day I had to hide in the closet to have a little peace and quiet for myself. We just aren’t used to being all together 24/7 like people may have been in past generations. We need to give ourselves some grace and take care of our mental health!

Snoop proves that he’s just one of us when he posted this amazing video on Instagram. There’s nothing more relatable than this right now!

When Snoop posted himself listening to this song alone in his car on his Instagram page I’ve never felt I could relate to him more! Sometimes we all just have to LET IT GO.

But, seriously, when your partner or kids or dog are just driving you nuts the best thing you can do for everyone involved is go lock yourself in your car and do something to relax your mind. Snoop definitely has the right idea here!

If you can’t have a few laughs by watching silly videos, or do something in your living room to get your whole family into a good mood then you have to take the most drastic measures of all. Listen to the Frozen soundtrack. That’s right. Snoop D-O-double G Dog listens to Frozen to chill out. Just watch!

Let it go

How have you taken time outs for yourself lately?? Have you been able to get away and relax? Even for a moment? If not then throw this Dr. Seuss reading on for the kids and take a breather for yourself!

The 25 Second Daily Exercise That Will Have You Limber Enough To Touch Your Shoes By Tomorrow.

April 28, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

Everyone is looking for a way to get fit in less time. This woman has perfected 25 seconds of exercise. The amount of stretching she gets in is quite amazing. I can hardly believe how low she can go. At her age this is quite a feat! Everyone would be good to follow her lead.

I feel more like this banana when I try to touch my toes. It’s not as easy as it once was! Nothing reminds me more that I’m no longer a kid than trying to do yoga poses.

via GIPHY

But, alas, we’ve got this all solved for you! In just 25 seconds a day, you too can touch your toes. All you’ll need is a table top and some exercise pants. Perhaps some extra shoes as well. You’ll amaze your family at how limber you’ve become. Just watch her video and do as she does and you too can easily lean forward and touch your shoes.

Are you ready for this? Think you can’t lean over and touch your own shoes??

My friend sent me this easy exercise -watch this 25 Sec video!

Posted by Nancy Davis on Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Hilarious, right?? This reminds me of some old summer camp skits I’ve seen in my days. Like this one. Or this one. I think this would be a funny one to do during a Zoom meeting or even surprise the kids when they come down for breakfast.

Do you remember any funny skits from childhood? I remember a similar one to this video but it was performed with 2 bodies. One person was the legs, one the arms. And they usually did some sort of funny exercise routine. Someone please do one of those for a video so we can have some more laughs!

12 Year Old KILLS This Song

April 26, 2020 by Andrea 2 Comments

Every now and then you see a video with a child and their parent (or another adult) singing and it’s sweet and cute and most of the time you see that they’re talented. But this duo will blow your socks off. They sing Ain’t No Mountain High Enough like they own it! There’s nothing cute about this. This 12 year old is going somewhere. And singing with her “uncle” Jo (JoJo Clarke) is clearly bringing up her game.

Let’s talk about Uncle Jo! Holy wow. Can that man sing! I might just fall down the Instagram hole listening to every video he posts! I’ve got a free hour or two so I might as well!

The song Ain’t No Mountain High Enough was written by Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson in 1966. It was first performed and recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967. It became a hit, obviously.

Embed from Getty Images

It was then recorded and performed by the Supremes, with Diana Ross, in the 1970s. This version is quite a bit different than the Gaye/Terrell version.

You can find all three versions below. Are you ready to judge which is your favorite version? You might surprise yourself by which you choose after you listen to them all.

I thought I would have chosen the Supremes version but that’s not actually my favorite. After listening to the Gaye/Terrell version I realized that was my favorite. Then I listened to this version by JoJo Clarke and I may just have a new favorite!

LOOK who came to sing with Uncle Jo. I LOVE YOU BRI (I call her my niece)❤️. You’re a star @ya_gurlbri . SHEESH ‼️‼️

A post shared by Joseph (JoJo) Clarke (@jbclarkeeee) on Apr 19, 2020 at 4:28pm PDT

Was I right?? That did not disappoint, did it?

Now listen to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell sing it.

Now listen to the version by the Supremes. Diana Ross is hard to beat! But I’m not sure this is my favorite version. It’s beautiful, of course.

So do you have a favorite??

Hilarious Glow in the Dark Dance Everyone is Loving

April 26, 2020 by Andrea 2 Comments

All this extra time at home has led to a lot of creativity. Whether you’re writing and performing songs, making gifts for healthcare workers, creating obstacle courses for your hedgehogs or getting creative cutting your hair, you’re probably doing something you wouldn’t normally do.

Well it’s our lucky day because Princess_Paige8 has created a 10 second video you won’t soon forget. Dressed in all black with glow necklaces taped to their bodies, these two give a hilarious glow man performance. The video starts with one woman standing stoically in the back of a walk-in closet. Her friend walks in as if in no rush and stands facing the back wall. She cuts the lights and the music starts. All of a sudden they’re shaking it to Back That Thang Up by Juvenile w/ Lil Wayne & Mannie Fresh.

via GIPHY

Glow Stick Men are popular around Halloween. They’re cute little costumes in the dark. A fun way for families to dress alike. You might also remember glow in the dark dancers from America’s Got Talent or other late night shows. The professional glow in the dark dance groups take it to a different level, of course. Not just a box of glow sticks to get them glowing.

via GIPHY

But Princess_Paige8 and her friend’s dance just might beat all the fancy choreographed glow in the dark dances I’ve ever seen. Her glow stick necklaces on her butt are the key to the whole thing. This is talent. Do you think you could do that? It’s quote impressive. The glow in the dark dancing takes something that would have been ordinary and uninteresting and elevated it to the level of Amazing.

View this post on Instagram

I’d like to thank years of dance classes and 38 days of quarantine for this video. #azzential .. ….. …. *back that thang up- juvenile w/ lil Wayne & mannie fresh ( I do not own the rights to this song)

A post shared by Princess Paige (@princess_paige8) on Apr 21, 2020 at 11:18am PDT

Amazing, right?? That bounce she gets is key. Lots of celebrities have shared her video. It’s quite impressive. We’re hoping she makes another one! Clearly they’ve got talent for deadpan humor and definitely with shaking it!

Alicia Keys Drops New Song to Honor Essential Workers

April 24, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

Alicia Keys has just released a new song and video thanking the essential workers who are on the front lines every day. This beautiful video shows her at her piano, playing and singing. Her gorgeous lyrics meet her beautiful voice for a chilling performance.

So many people are stepping up to thank our front line workers. Yesterday we posted a video about a young boy and his family who are creating yard art to surprise healthcare workers. And thousands of people around the world are making masks for works and providing meals and support.

Alicia Keys has been composing her own songs since she was 12 years old. She was first signed with her first record company when she was just 15! Her debut album, Songs in A Minor, was critically acclaimed. You may be most familiar with her number one single “Fallin”. That album sold over 16 million copies and earned her 5 grammy awards.

Her second album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, was very popular as well. She sold over 8 million copies worldwide. You may be most familiar with the song “You Don’t Know My Name” on that album. She then went on to release more albums, accumulate more grammy awards and even host the grammy awards two years in a row.

Her song “Good Job” (video below) celebrates COVID-19 heroes and gives tribute to the health care professionals, teachers, front line workers, parents, first responders and everyone who is working to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Boy Inspires Entire City With His Yard Art for Front Line Workers

April 23, 2020 by Andrea 2 Comments

It’s in times of adversity and trial that our true nature starts to shine through. We’re seeing so many positive, caring people right now. People are stepping up to deliver supplies to the elderly. They’re making meals for first responders. They’re donating money to food banks and other organizations helping people who have lost their jobs. People around the world are stepping up to show what they’re really made of.

We found this heartwarming story of a young man who, together with his parents, creates yard art to thank first responders and healthcare workers. Dante and his parents thought of the idea and created a few to begin with and the project has taken on new life. They’re now cutting, painting and delivering lots and lots of these precious wooden hearts to people all around Bellingham, Washington.

Embed from Getty Images

Bellingham is a picturesque town nestled beneath the Mt. Baker foothills on the Puget Sound. Just south of the Canadian border, about 90 miles north of Seattle, Bellingham is a town known for being unique and creative. Dante is certainly that!

His hearts are created by cutting up used pallets. His dad cuts and he nails them together. Then they paint the red heart and his mom writes the message. Dante signs the back of every piece of art. Then, together as a family, they deliver each one as a surprise. What a wonderful surprise!

They attach a phone number to call if someone wants to order one for another person. This way people don’t even know who sent them the heart. I love this concept. Anonymous thanks to the people on the front lines.

We can imagine this working in so many forms and communities. What talents do you have that you could put to use?

Ya Gotta Have Heart

So many people are doing sweet, wonderful things as we all muddle our way through these extraordinary times. In Bellingham we found one family that has created a gesture that comes from the heart. They are my Heroes. Eric's Heroes airs every Wednesday night at 6pm on KOMO News. Family Creates Relatable Quarantine Parody Song

April 23, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

We’re in our second month of trying to stay home as much as possible. How are you doing? Are you managing to get your supplies and support your local businesses without exposing yourself to germs? It’s been quite a trial for most people. Some people are isolated alone and others have a house full. How many are with you right now?

Families are starting to go a little stir crazy. Siblings are getting along better than ever. (Did you fall out of your seat laughing at that one?)

via GIPHY

I just love that social isolation fighting GIF. It cracks me up every time! Always stay 6 feet away, even when fighting! SNL has had some funny quarantine skits!

A lot of people and families have turned to writing and performing songs, skits and other fun entertainment. Thank you to all of you who are contributing to our happiness by making these fun little videos! You’re making life more positive and renewing our faith in humanity. Thanks for staying home when you can!

I don’t know much about this family other than there are 4 of them. The son plays the guitar while the mom and daughter sing. Dad performs typical dad joke physical comedy in the background.

The lyrics are so relatable. You’ll see yourself in all of them. “Uh, you guys, I think we finished Netflix.” Ha! I’m not quite there yet. I’ve been spending more time watching funny home videos and the Not My Hands Challenge.

Relatable Quarantine Parody Song

The Quarantine Song 🤣😷

A little laugh in the middle of all of this quarantine stuff. *Written and performed by the Doss Family*

Posted by Heart Full of Heaven on Thursday, April 23, 2020

Cute, right? That was written and performed by the Doss Family. Thanks, Doss family! Keep them coming! We want to see more!

Have you seen any fun songs or skits performed by families? Share them with us on our facebook page! We’d love to see what you’ve been watching and enjoying. What’s keeping you entertained and preventing fighting in your house right now?
