Family Creates Relatable Quarantine Parody Song

April 23, 2020 by Andrea Leave a Comment

We’re in our second month of trying to stay home as much as possible. How are you doing? Are you managing to get your supplies and support your local businesses without exposing yourself to germs? It’s been quite a trial for most people. Some people are isolated alone and others have a house full. How many are with you right now?

Families are starting to go a little stir crazy. Siblings are getting along better than ever. (Did you fall out of your seat laughing at that one?)

via GIPHY

I just love that social isolation fighting GIF. It cracks me up every time! Always stay 6 feet away, even when fighting! SNL has had some funny quarantine skits!

A lot of people and families have turned to writing and performing songs, skits and other fun entertainment. Thank you to all of you who are contributing to our happiness by making these fun little videos! You’re making life more positive and renewing our faith in humanity. Thanks for staying home when you can!

I don’t know much about this family other than there are 4 of them. The son plays the guitar while the mom and daughter sing. Dad performs typical dad joke physical comedy in the background.

The lyrics are so relatable. You’ll see yourself in all of them. “Uh, you guys, I think we finished Netflix.” Ha! I’m not quite there yet. I’ve been spending more time watching funny home videos and the Not My Hands Challenge.

The Next Time We Wear Pants It’s Gonna Be May- Quarantine Parody

April 22, 2020 by Marissa Leave a Comment

Tell the truth, did you wear pants today? No stretchy pants don’t count.

If you’re like most of the world these days, you are living in your comfy quarantine uniform. For me that’s been leggings, leggings and more leggings. My husband though is fully embracing the elastic banded joggers.

When will we put on real pants again? Good question.

Thankfully our favorite family The Holderness Family has something to say about that. The family famous for their light hearted musical parodies that poke fun at the ins and outs of everyday family life is at it again bringing totally relatable silliness to one of the catchiest tunes.

Set to the melody of NSYNC’s It’s Gonna Be Me, we get the answer to the question of the hour. It’s gonna be May, or June, or July before we put pants on again.

What about the part where he’s dancing and she’s all “it’s a lot, it’s just a lot” lol. Not sure about you but I feel that so much lately about every move from the other people in this house. So, so much.

What was your favorite part? I think the slow slide down the stairs was mine. Too good.

I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole Song

May 7, 2020 by Marissa Leave a Comment

Well who knew that what we were really missing from this crazy world of ours was an adorable singer songwriter wondering what’s inside your butthole.

via GIPHY

Let’s first start with the cutie’s sweet face. She’s adorable. Toting that classical guitar and singing her heart out. But then you start to hear the actual words coming out of her mouth.

And then you are like, wait, WHAT?!

via GIPHY

That’s right she just said “I wonder what’s inside your butthole.” Not just that but the lyrics continue.

via GIPHY

“Maybe there is astronauts.”

via GIPHY

“Maybe there is aliens. All inside your butthole. What’s inside your butthole. I always want to know. What’s inside your butthole. I always want to know” That’s right she’s always wanted to know lol.

Okay I’m dying laughing over here. So if you didn’t already just scroll down to the video. With no further delay I present to you “I Wonder What’s Inside Your Butthole” by Lisa Rieffel’s kid.

Oh but it doesn’t just end with that fun Diddy. There are remixes. That’s right we’ve got people jumping on board mixing the kiddo and singing toned down versions of the jam themselves!

We loved this and did our own version. https://t.co/pBaB0FCIEP pic.twitter.com/sNPGPIoPbu

Quarantine: The TV Show

April 28, 2020 by Marissa Leave a Comment

Have you found yourself wondering how all of this quarantine stuff will impact us in the long run? Here’s a hilarious imagining of what TV could look like.

via GIPHY

Funny girl Lilly Singh takes on three stereo typical television tropes and adds her distinctive brand of humor to them with these quarantine retellings.

From classic Indian entertainment to reality television Lilly’s comedic take on how quarantine life would look in these worlds has me in stitches.

via GIPHY

If you’ve never seen and old time Indian soap opera do yourself a favor and look one up. So entertaining and her so pans and over the top close ups are spot on.

via GIPHY

I think my favorite bit of the parody is the intro to fictional reality show Quarantine Island.

Answering the question of what one looks for in someone to quarantine with one contestant responds, “my type of girl is a girl who looks sanitized” bwahahaah.

How do you think you rank up? “Health-wise I’d say I’m a ten, I may even be immune to the virus. Ya know, I might even be the cure.” Oh it’s the perfect capture of the skeezy characters in all those crazy dating elimination shows.

Lastly there’s The Real Housewives of Quarantine where the pettiness knows no end. Will she invite her to her zoom dinner party? Does she even want to be invited with the host having such a glitchy connection? Hahah yup pretty much.

I love all the little details and quirks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Okay so what was your favorite part?

Is this the Real Life?

April 28, 2020 by Marissa Leave a Comment

This Bohemian Rhapsody parody combines two of my favorite things Queen and funny videos that touch something we can all relate to. This Coronavirus Rhapsody is great!

via GIPHY

I swear every single day I’m asking myself “Is this the real life?” The things we are dealing with and hearing about our world remind me of the post-apocalyptic and dystopian books I love.

That being said, musical parodies may be my favorite way to cope with this crazy world we are in.

I’m cracking up laughing so hard at the lyrics. I mean how many times after my daily walk am I wondering to myself if that tickle in my throat is from the pollen or could be from the be CV?!

via GIPHY

Cough Cough it’s every time Cough. Oh crap did I just cough? You know I’m not the only one hahahah.

via GIPHY

But the I think the best part may have to be the bridge. “What a douche! What a douche! Did he ever wash his hands though?” But seriously guys, wash your hands.

Watch the Parody

So without further delay enjoy the beautiful voice and hilariously poignant lyrics of InVoca’s Coronavirus Rhapsody.

Thanks to InVoca by by Raúl Irabién for this hilarious and timely remake of Queens famous ballad.

And if you want to compare you can watch to original Bohemian Rhapsody too!

Want more fun?

Here are some other great parodies perfect for coping with our current craziness!

  • I Quarantine inspired by Johnny Cash
  • Disney in a time of Corona from the hilarious Holderness Family
  • Family Quarantine Parody Song
  • It’s Gonna be May (before we wear pants again) to the tune of NSYNC’s popular It’s Gonna Be Me
  • While not quite a parody this list would be incomplete if I didn’t mention Adam Sandler’s Quarantine Song

Hilarious Glow in the Dark Dance Everyone is Loving

April 26, 2020 by Andrea 2 Comments

All this extra time at home has led to a lot of creativity. Whether you’re writing and performing songs, making gifts for healthcare workers, creating obstacle courses for your hedgehogs or getting creative cutting your hair, you’re probably doing something you wouldn’t normally do.

Well it’s our lucky day because Princess_Paige8 has created a 10 second video you won’t soon forget. Dressed in all black with glow necklaces taped to their bodies, these two give a hilarious glow man performance. The video starts with one woman standing stoically in the back of a walk-in closet. Her friend walks in as if in no rush and stands facing the back wall. She cuts the lights and the music starts. All of a sudden they’re shaking it to Back That Thang Up by Juvenile w/ Lil Wayne & Mannie Fresh.

via GIPHY

Glow Stick Men are popular around Halloween. They’re cute little costumes in the dark. A fun way for families to dress alike. You might also remember glow in the dark dancers from America’s Got Talent or other late night shows. The professional glow in the dark dance groups take it to a different level, of course. Not just a box of glow sticks to get them glowing.

via GIPHY

But Princess_Paige8 and her friend’s dance just might beat all the fancy choreographed glow in the dark dances I’ve ever seen. Her glow stick necklaces on her butt are the key to the whole thing. This is talent. Do you think you could do that? It’s quote impressive. The glow in the dark dancing takes something that would have been ordinary and uninteresting and elevated it to the level of Amazing.

View this post on Instagram

I’d like to thank years of dance classes and 38 days of quarantine for this video. #azzential .. ….. …. *back that thang up- juvenile w/ lil Wayne & mannie fresh ( I do not own the rights to this song)

A post shared by Princess Paige (@princess_paige8) on Apr 21, 2020 at 11:18am PDT

Amazing, right?? That bounce she gets is key. Lots of celebrities have shared her video. It’s quite impressive. We’re hoping she makes another one! Clearly they’ve got talent for deadpan humor and definitely with shaking it!

Quarantine Songs Disney Style

April 23, 2020 by Stef Leave a Comment

We all know and love the Holderness family, am I right? They always seem to know just how “real life” is looking. Recently, it was “Next time we wear pants it’s gonna be May” (hey, that’s only a week away now!) Now, they’ve come out with a musical medley and it has us rolling on the floor laughing.

A twist on the words to some of our very favorite Disney classics has us all in stitches. Who doesn’t love a little Lumiere singing about top notch dining service?

via GIPHY

Except Penn Holderness – donning a very French mustache – certainly isn’t singing about being our guest; instead it’s “wear a mask” and OH! the bit about the broccoli florets – hahahaha. Then it’s a quick (and sloppy) costume change while we take off on Aladdin’s carpet ride…..or actually, not so much beyond the bathroom.

Throw a little Moana hopefulness and some Lion King glove love in the mashup and then get ready for the grand finale! It’s time to end with a little Rapunzel and you are going to die when you hear what they’ve come up with for this part. Complete with an unruly blonde braid and some extra ad libbing, this fun performance ends with a surprise that will make you want to go back and rewatch Tangled all over again. The Holderness family has pulled it off again – a Disney song parody to keep us smiling throughout the day.

If Disney Songs Were About Quarantine

One day I'll gooooo, hang with my brooooos…

Posted by The Holderness Family on Wednesday, April 22, 2020

We love the twinkle in Penn’s eye when he realizes what he is actually singing during the Tangled twist and we love Kim’s giggling as she tries to quickly and subtly help with the costume changes. At the end, they comment about things being a little chaotic and putting together the video in just one take. We think that one take was all that was needed; I know I certainly enjoyed the light-hearted performance!

“I Quarantine” to a Famous Johnny Cash Tune

April 22, 2020 by Stef 2 Comments

We love the creativity and camaraderie that stems from this time of self-distancing . Families are creating hilarious music videos about when we’ll be able to wear pants again, Wes Tank is rapping Dr. Suess books like Fox in Sox and Green Eggs and Ham, and neighbors are installing clever backyard bars!

We just came across this adorable man from Kentucky who, along with his wife wrote these catchy lyrics to the tune of a classic Johnny Cash song. “I Walk the Line” was written and recorded in 1956 by Johnny Cash and was his first number one hit on the billboards. Now Blue and Colleen Murphy have swapped out the words of “I walk the Line” and replaced them with “I Quarantine” – and Quarantine is pronounced just a tad different to keep in line 😉 with the feel of the original song.

Blue Murphy’s deep baritone voice and Southern drawl are just the prerequisites needed to pull off a Johnny Cash imitation and we think he nailed it! “My hands are chapped – from – washing all the time….COVID 1-9, I Quarantine.”

I love Johnny Cash’s original song and I’ll certainly be humming Blue Murphy’s fun spin on it all day long! Thank you for you fun song, Blue and Colleen!
